Step one: Recruit a friend to go with. :x

One who has the sensitivity to have your back against ED

(Take and afternoon or whole day if you need more time.)

Step two: Choose a large store to shop in.

It is better to have multiple sizes to work with (I will explain more later)

Step three: Plan a fun after activity (one that isn’t a food activity)

*Buy hoola hoops and go to the park
*Go to a petting zoo
*Buy bubble solution go the top of a hill and watch the wind carry them away
*Sing loudly (and possibly very badly) in the car :ooook:
*Get a manicure or pedicure (If your feet aren’t shy)
*Skip stones in a lake or pond
*Jump in mud puddles after it rains

Ok now there is one crucial part to this: You cannot look at the sizes when you try on clothes. You have to promise you friend and KEEP that promise.

This is about clothes that fit and look great on you! The size of the clothes is not important!

************************************************************************
Attention: Friend

Here is your part in the plan:

*Bring post-it-notes or stickers
*Be very patient! Remember this may take some time.

*Take your friend to the store of their choice, (as long as it is a well stocked store)

*If they can muster up the courage  , have them tell you their sizes…but don’t worry if that is not an option I have a plan.

*Have your friend stand with their back facing you. Hold different sizes up to them to get an estimate of their size.

*Start by shopping for items they don’t like to buy, pants, shirts, etc.(Get the hard part done first.)

*When they pick out an item select it in a few sizes. (That’s why a larger store will work better.)

*Now put post-its or stickers over the sizes.

*Pass the items one at a time to them in the dressing room. (Then they cannot compare one items size to another.)

VERY IMPORTAINT: start with the largest size first! It will be easier for them is they have to go down a size, but very defeating if they don’t fit and need a larger size.

*After that part, shop for things that are fun for them to buy, shoes, hair stuff etc.

*After they have made their purchases and know that they defiantly won’t be returning anything…cut the size tags off! Get ride of them! :-P

Then have fun blowing bubbles or hoola-hooping! :)

I like that you start with larger sizes first. I never thought about it being let down to have to go up a size.

I know. It's a great suggestion!

I just remembered something about shopping - when I struggled, I would set an alarm on my phone that would go off every 30 min that said "Clothes are supposed to fit you, not the other way".Really helpful to keep that in mind.
