I wasn't sure where to put this but I realise that I am not alone in feeling lost when it comes to choosing words specifically around how we are feeling. I compiled a list of words and please feel free to add to. I don't know if this is of any use to anyone else but sometimes I need to see some options.
It was too complicated to list them by type of feelings so its alphabetical.
(And because I am not computer savy I didnt know how to put a word doc. here, so I turned it into an image and that is why the words may look a little skewed. I tried!)

I love this.

the first therapist I had this last time in treatment gave me a list of feeling words and i found it helpful when trying to match a word with what was going on inside of me

I agree. So many of us have stuffed our feelings down our throats (and I'm not talking about bingeing here - I mean metaphorically and emotionally) that we now need to learn it much as we would learn a new language. The exciting part is that there is that new language not only to learn, but to live.

Kate, don't feel badly; I don't think you can attach a word document, only a PDF, which apparently you can do in Word but I have not tried it yet.

This is great, a huge help. Thank you for posting Kate. I remember getting a sheet similar in treatment awhile back, a good reminder to perhaps dig it out!

This is a great list that's compiled I wish I had printer ink to print it out. I'm working a scrapbook/book of coping tools so I wrote down about half the feeling words in it will come back later to this. Great Post!
