Ok, so I found this on Cracked.com but it's still pretty scary. Check out number 6

I personally boycott Abercrombie though I don't disrespect anyone who buys their clothes from there or anything. I knew someone who worked there and they kept tabs on your weight and how you looked and wouldn't hire anyone over a certain weight. An isolated incident, maybe, but it was enough to turn me off of Abercrombie forever. Plus, the clothes are outrageously expensive for what they are.

I had a friend who worked there right when she moved to the step down house of treatment... the one she worked at wasnt like that...

I wouldnt assume they are all as good as the one she worked at given their catalogs , etc

I had a friend who used to work there and she didn't say they tracked your weight but she did say they only hired people who looked a certain way (i.e. pretty enough, thin enough) and kept tight holds on what you wore and did your hair and how much make up you wore. It really wouldn't surprise me if some of them did track weight. That store is just creepy, it gives me the heebie jeebies just walking by it on my way to H&M or Urban Outfitters :-) .
Has anyone seen the MadTV skits where they make fun of Abercrombie, they're kinda tasteless, but then again, so is Abercrombie.

Yeah, that's a creepy, scary, soulless place....

Wow, that is the scariest thing ever! I don't think we have any of their shops in England... my boyfriend was gonna buy a shirt from there when he was over in America... I'm so glad he didn't!!

This just depresses me. Who the hell thought that was a good idea in the first place? Ugh.

That's just wrong and creepy. I personally don't shop at abercrombie ($50 for an ugly cotton tee shirt? I'm no scrounge, I'll pay for name brand clothing, but only when it's WORTH it). I can imagine them sitting around their little table wracking their heads for ideas, then:

"I know! Let's make thongs for kids! Face it, puberty's striking pretty young."

:-?

I´ve read something about thongs for five year old girls, bit I can´t find that article now.
I thought it was against some law to show pictures of almost-naked children and tell the viewers that this is sexy... although she isn´t naked, that´s almost child pornography I think.
It´s not normal to tell a five year old girl she has to be sexy. She won´t even know what you´re expecting from her. Something she just can´t be.

^ I know what you are talking about Wolf. Yes, a few years ago Abercrombie had issued thongs that would fit kids around the age of 8 that said things that were inappropriate. I have refused to shop there for that reason as well as their choices in advertising and their past with releasing merchandise that was offensive to some people. (They issued "Asian"-inspired t-shirts a few years ago that used stereotypes to try to be funny.)

It really does make you wonder what crack is being smoked by the merchandising people, the creative team, and the advertising people there.

The worst kind of drug: MONEY. Who cares about morality, when there´s money to be gained?
