I just had a go in the comments section, but it's certainly not enough. They posted this story about a woman who suffered with anorexia/bulimia and was in and out of hospitals, making out that she couldn't eat properly because of digestive problems. Bullshit. It says right at the bottom that she simply can't stomach food she enjoys. Uggghhhh.

Very triggering, I'd say. Just made me angry. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... s-DAY.html
And OH MY GOD I just looked at the url properly. Ugghhh!!! D;< RECOVERY RAGE.

Buggar. Was gonna put my comment, but copy/pasted the url. Ah well. They probably won't publish it, but ugghhh. Made me so riled up.

omg I know, I saw this too and it made me feel similarly outraged... the fact that she explicitly says 'I won't let myself eat over x amount of calories a day kind of gives the lie to the whole article. also just how appalling, they've completely ignored beats guidelines on eating disorders in the media- shocking pictures, numbers galore, grrrrrrr

The stupid thing is, they have another article up today about the young sufferers care home in London, and it's written so well. Sensitive to the issue, but still describing the affect it has on families and how sad it is.

I don't think I even understood most of that, and I'm fairly glad.

There's really no point arguing with internet commenters. Many are there just to have an argument so you could be telling them 2+2=4 and they'll still argue against it with you.

With the Daily Mail I think it's just best to focus on the positive articles they do run in amongst all this bullshit and try not to fixate of get too upset by these sort of articles.

That was ridiculous. More shock tactics, of course... But it started with how her digestive system is screwed so she can't eat "rich" foods to how she won't eat rich foods.

Stupid.

As someone with severe digestive issues and food allergies AND and eating disorder, that pisses me off. I understand it's the ed talking, but people who blame their fears on "digestive issues" are the reason why I go to intensive treatment, with a doctor's orders specific to the foods I have been tested allergic to, get fed those foods for 5 weeks, and end up in the hospital for a month after the intensive treatment because my digestive system is so fucked up from the eating disorder people feeding me the foods my doctor said not to.

end rant
