Subject: URGENT: FEMALE MODELS NEEDED

Hi, we are looking for two female models - one for a beauty shoot and another for a fashion shoot.

The beauty shoot takes place tomorrow, Thursday 16th March, from 9am at the Epsom campus - for this shoot we are looking for models who are around 5'7/5'8 or over and size 6-8-10

The fashion shoot will take place next week either Wednesday or Thursday - ideally we are looking for a model who is a size 6-8 and 5'8 or over.

Travel and lunch will be paid for.
If interested, please email some photos and I will get back to you asap.

Thanks,
Sara

My reply?
Nice to know the fashion industry really is changing. Here I was, a fool thinking 5'7/8 sizes 6-8-10 (ie Jack Skellington) had worn out it's appeal. The lunch bit at the end is a joke, right? ;D

Ugh. -.- Gets my goat.

are your sizes a lot different than US sizes? I thought a 6 there was a 4 here?

if so wouldn't a 10 there be an 8 here? for someone 5'7" that's not too outrageous.. I imagine some women could be healthy and that size or a size 8 there (6 here). Health can come in larger and smaller sizes at that height...

am I missing something?

Me too (about it seeming reasonable). that's why I was wondering if the sizes weren't the difference I thought they were... I know people that are 5'7'', healthy (exercise, no eating disorder, okay relationship with food), and a size 4 (a size 6 there)... some people can be those things without being emaciated or skeletal

No I think the difference is 4 sizes not 2.. I don't know if that makes a difference but a US 0 is a UK 4

my bad (I googled it and all the sites I found said it said it was just 2 sizes - http://www.frenchfriends.info/practical ... onversions) -- . but regardless, I still think you could be a size 10UK, size 6US and 5'7" and healthy

I agree with MissNat that the reply was humorous (specifically the lunch part)

What annoyed me was that they automatically demanded "model specifications". I thought fashion students aspired to open up the industry to a wider audience, instead these may very well turn into the next idiots to advertise women's clothes using a young man's body. Whether it actually has a dick or not.

Sorry. Just really works me up. Cliché as it is, programmes on modelling and magazines repetitive imagery really did get me thinking "Hey, ya know what'd be a great idea? ;D..." ¬.¬;

That's because we don't do odd sizes for some reason so we only do multiples of 2 so technically it's 2 sizes despite being 4 figures.

here it's brand by brand whether or not we do odd sizes...
and as we all know sizes are worthless anyway as they differ by brand.

I like how expensive jeans/pants in the US (and I'm guessing most jeans in the UK) go with actual measurements for sizes. makes more sense to me.

like menswear

---

back on topic. sort of. dove when they did their campaign for real beaut even had specifications for those models... which I found interesting
