Oh man...Simon Chang - you are SO off my shopping list:

Quote:
...he warned only Parisians are thin enough to wear the new European "treggings" -- leggings with trouser pleats.

Fuck you.

If that's true maybe treggings are just bloody stupid....

Some fashions are and they usually look bloody stupid on the stick thin emaciated models who wear them too....

Tbh I haven't read the full article.. I know it's just wind me up too much

:pouting:

To tell you the truth, I don't even remember, although it was explained in the article. My reaction was more about him implicitly telling women that they are too fat to wear something, and that there is something desireable about being as thin as a Paris model. Well, fuckhead Chang - I AM that skinny, and it has caused nothing but medical problems and misery, and I won't be wearing your freaking "treggings" either, whatever the hell they are.

Sorry. I guess he just hit one of my triggers, one I wasn't really aware of, so I suppose something good has come out of it.

It says they're leggings with trouser pleats, which sounds patently ridiculous. Why bother? o_O
But really, the "only skinny women can wear X" talk is just BS. I hate it. I looooove fashion, but honestly, if a designer's saying "only X can wear my Y", then that designer's Y is just not worth producing.
There's a difference between flattering your body and making BS claims like this.

a trouser legging?

Sort of like how a jegging is leggings looking like jeans, but designed to look like trouser pants.

They look great on anyone who is confident enough to wear them.

I can't say it any better, so I'll just quote spender.

Honestly I think they're horrible....

I did wonder why so many girls here were wearing skin tight shiny leather trousers but just as sort of regular day wear.... each to their own I guess.

Designer explains how to cope with changing weather

Quote:

"The weather is so unpredictable, I think layering is the most intelligent way of dressing," said the man who has created looks for runway models, Broadway shows, airlines, restaurants and working women

Seriously? We need a designer to tell us that?
Wow, then my mom must be a genius, because she told me about wearing layers of clothes twenty years ago.

:)

I quite like them. They aren't new though! I guess they're just becoming trendy...

According to the fashionpolice.net, treggings are exactly like skinny jeans, minus the denim, still with a zip and button.

And, FUCK YOU, Chang.

I'm not a fan

I don't think that anyone, not even those who he deems "skinny" enough, should wear them, purely because of what he said...

I saw some on a hanger and I can't help but think that they look like inner tubes for bikes

I like leggings that look like leggings. I like them so I can comfortably wear my pretty skirts in the winter....I don't get fashion and I suppose I never will. Not that that's a bad thing.
