Alright, I'm done here. Revel in carbohydrates indiscriminately.

Oh come on. :bang:

You are obviously missing the point. And the point is to celebrate the fact we don't have restrict carbs because our body needs them. To eat only carbs and processed carbs and 'revel indiscriminately' would be just as eating disordered.

I was writing in response to the general feeling in society that 'carbs are bad'. I just wanted to have a light hearted post saying you don't have to be scared of eating a healthy diet that includes the right amount and type of carbs.

Yes, I went through a period of being carb-terrified. 1 small slice of wholemeal bread was about the limit. I was so scared of potatoes.

Why? Potatoes are awesome!

I had problems with rice and pasta a lot as well, which I'm only just getting okay with. But s'all good.

Thanks for all the awesome carb-y facts! If you look at the Eatwell plate, a third of our daily intake should be starch foods.

I could never do low carb. It's silly AND now I know it would probably hurt my awesome math skills. My bf's family is so into that crap. Why do people diet? It's so counter-intuitive when you think about it. Why would I deprive myself to not get what I want anyway. I'll stick with pursuing my goals, a BS degree and the ability to climb stairs with less pain.
