Yeah, I just did a second take of the website, and that was on the front page. In the picture, diet coke was right next to milk. I hope we aren't going down *that* path as a society again. Don't get me wrong, I love my diet coke, but it's wreaked havoc on my teeth/stomach.

Also, it really upsets me that those food journals are up there as a shining example of how much and what knew of things to eat. I especially worry about all the young girls who now think eating like that is not only okay, but the epitome of healthy. Especially if they are exercising as much as they say they are. It really makes me feel compelled to *do* something.

*shudder*
"Sweet and Satanic
Sugar is the devil, and Jackie shows you how to satisfy cravings the clean way."

Oh, so I guess you have a machine that zaps all your food of sugar, right? Are you confusing exercising and exorcism to get all that Devil-sugar out of your bloodstream? Ugh, people are blunt and stupid sometimes. -.-; I mean, hinting on religious belief by saying sugar's the "Devil" uggghhh. Makes me glad England's largely given up strict belief, stops the use of maniplulative crap like that.

Yeah, definitely not a fan of the name, but from the sound of it... It must be pretty similar to the new MTV show "I used to be fat".

Pretty dumb.

(Sorry for the random "first post", I've been lurking ^^)

AUGH! I hate that show! It's *so* unrealistic! They aren't even pretending to talk about healthy weightloss. The amount of weight they purport people losing in a short period of time should be considered gross criminal negligence on the part of everyone involved. /END Rant

Anyways, nice to meet you!

I hate I Used to Be Fat. It only perpetuates the idea that the only way you could ever POSSIBLY hope for happiness is to lose weight and even then, this is something that only 98% of the human population will fail EPICALLY at. Those people are no exception since they're going about it waaaay to fast. Gah!

MTV are one of the biggest culprits for supporting unhealthy weight loss, flicking through the channels the other day i saw "Skinniest Celebs", a show applauding how thin some celebs are now, fml.

I feel like the portrayal of unhealthy attitudes about body size/weight/diet have reached a fever pitch in the last 2 years. It isn't just about the passive depiction of unrealistic/warped standards of beauty anymore. It's about portraying and condoning internalized body hatred/sizism. I couldn't believe the way both mother and daughter talked about the importance of weight/size on the first episode of I Used To Be Fat. Her mom said "She's got everything going for her: personality, she's smart, talented, everybody loves her...but...she's always been overweight." I can't believe they are sending that message out to women/girls!
