Better than this:
Image

An ad campaign paid for by a private gym in the Netherlands. Basically a scale is attached to the bus-stop bench and the weight of the person sitting down is displayed to everyone within eye-shot in big red numbers.

Public fat shaming!

An anonymous person recovered from anorexia wrote to the gym about the impact unknowingly sitting on it would have had. "It would have given me not only another opportunity to cultivate my dangerous preoccupation with my weight, but a little more confirmation that the rest of society completely supported (hell, demanded) it"

As in stolen? I'm confused.

Yes, it is just awful. I can't even imagine the horror I would feel if I unknowingly sat down on that bench.

I can't believe it. Has this caused public outrage?

That last one's absolutely disgusting. No one in their right mind has the right to put scales on a bus stop! No-one should have to be tormented or judged just because they want to fucking sit down!!

jacked as in jacked up... similar to screwed up... used in phrases (in the U.S.) such as "you have jacked up teeth"

Oh, I've never heard that phrase before. It's not an idiomatic phrase around here.

I imagine this would make people pretty uncomfortable... if there wasn't a petition to have the scale removed, I'm sure no one was sitting on it!

I always find that so interesting... what phrases are popular and where...

like mon petit chou... aka my little cabbage... which is a term of endearment in some parts of France
